Accompanied by Alex Gilady, member of the International Olympic Committee, Nuzman also presented the Games project to a group of executives in Tel Aviv, and met with the Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Employment, Binyamin Be-Eliezer, to discuss aspects of infrastructure and technology related to the Games. The President of the Rio 2016 Committee and the Brazilian Olympic Committee also met with the Minister of Culture and Sports, Limor Livnat, and with the president of the Israeli Olympic Committee, Zvj Varshaviak, to debate possible agreements and partnerships in the area of sports.

In this first follow-up meeting of the project, the Committee assured the IPC that the organization of the Games is on time.

At the meeting, the IPC was also introduced to the Organizing Committee organizational structure, Rio´s vision for the integration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Rio 2016 Committee planning for the promotion of the Paralympic Games. In addition, the group received information on competition venues, athletes’ transportation and accessibility in the city.

CPB President and member of the IPC Executive Committee, Andrew Parsons, emphasized the interaction among all parts involved in the organization of the Games. “We are partners and we are at the disposition of the three levels of government in all stages of this long process of preparation of the Paralympic Games”, Parsons stated at the end of the meeting, held at the Organizing Committee offices.

“We have a unique program, which is to organize the Olympic and Paralympic Games with the same quality and dedication. We will work the same way, with no rest”, highlighted the President of the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Carlos Arthur Nuzman.
The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will be held September 7th – 18th, 2016.

We reiterate our full confidence in the peace project in Rio de Janeiro, which has been held under the leadership and authority of Governor Sérgio Cabral, through a careful and responsible planning in order to benefit all the population in the short, medium and long term.

The support of the civil society and the population of Rio de Janeiro, at this moment, represents one more clear demonstration that the public security policies of the State Government is on its right way.

We also reaffirm our full confidence in the excellence of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games security project, designed in partnership with the federal, state and city governments and approved by the International Olympic Committee. Thus, we can assure that the Games in 2016, and also the testing events that will be held in 2015, will take place in an atmosphere of total security.
